Setting: Rey is King, Muspelheim is readying for war with Asgard.
The Kind looked out over his kingdom, eyes flashing brightly in the light of the fiery mountains. His warriors were restless; he could feel them, within the bowels of that great house. They were ready for war… and so was he.
He felt a wave of energy then, energy he hadn’t felt since…
He turned from his balcony, remaining stoic even as he gazed upon the warrior that now stood at his door.
“I’m surprised,” he said evenly, his voice smooth and warm, “that you would even remember the path here.” In their past days, he had opened a path between the realms that only this warrior and his son could use.
The warrior smirked, taking a step further into the familiar room. “I’m surprised you left the path open.” His tone and stature were confident, but in his eyes held true regret and wariness. He didn’t want to be here, but then, he had never wanted to leave.
The king stepped away from his balcony, hands slowly clasping behind his back. “If you’ve come to dissuade me, you’re wasting your time. My soldiers and I are all too willing for war.”
The warrior sighed quietly and nodded, averting his gaze to the fiery realm outside. “As are mine,” he muttered, his smirk falling slowly. “As am I…” His smile returned to hide his solemnity. “Beisdes, I know well enough how stubborn you are, fair King.” He looked to the other, bright eyes boring into each other. “Even in your age, you still present yourself so regally… Your pride truly has no end, does it?”
For the first time, the King finally smiles, if only faintly. “Naturally… And I see I am not the only one who has taken to aging.”
“Well, I can still lift my sword yet. And there is still hardly a maiden who doesn’t look upon me with desire.” The warrior laughed a genuine and confident sound, one that struck at one of the king’s ancient heartstrings.
The King huffed a short chuckle. “I do not doubt such a thing. ‘twould hardly be a fight, were you to feel otherwise.”
“Indeed.” The warrior stepped further into the room, coming to stand beside the King as he gazed out the great window, to the kingdom outside. After a while of silence, he turned his eyes to the other beside him. “You’ve grown out your hair,” he noted quietly. With a touch of hesitation, he lifted a hand to brush his fingertips along the ends of that dark hair. “I haven’t seen it this way for many years… It looks so much different without the sun gleaming through it, with faeries molding it into braids…”
The King closed his eyes, sighing at the memory before turning to face the warrior. He caught the man’s hand, but he did not release him. “You should not be here,” he said firmly but quietly. “I’ve no time for your games… I must ready my soldiers for battle.”
The warrior’s casual guise fell as he met the King’s stoic gaze. He hadn’t seen such a solemn expression upon the other’s face in such a long time, not since the years when they embraced in shadows of night… He nearly wilted beneath it, but he quickly gathered his composure again. “As must I,” he said as his confident smirk returned. “Forgive me, I fell victim to nostalgia. How silly of me.” He brought the King’s hand to his lips, placing a lingering kiss upon his knuckles, as if to mock upon the courteous gesture. He pulled away, stepping back to the door to take his leave. Before he stepped out, he paused, then brought his eyes back to the king once more. Your son cannot wait to see you,” he said wryly, “on the field of battle.”
The King turned back to the balcony, sighing softly with a nod. “Send him my regards… I shall keep my eyes open for you both… my own.”

I’ve been clearly absent from this blog for awhile, and I just wanted to apologize for it. But honestly, I just can’t get into his character lately and every time I try to sit and write a reply it just won’t come forth. So, I guess I’m taking an indefinite hiatus for now.
I don’t want to abandon this blog forever, and I know this probably annoys some of you, but I just can’t keep saying I’ll come back and then…not come back.
So for now, you won’t see much of [this] Fandral around. Maybe once things settle a bit more @ my new job, and I finish grad classes…but at this moment I really can’t make any promises. Real life has sort of killed my muse; it’s hard to pretend to be carefree all the time when you’re so busy and tired and overwhelmed :3
assvengers, feel free to remove me if you’d like, so you can try and find a Fandral that will be far more active than I’ve been. You are all an amazing group of people, but I just don’t want to take over a character slot when its likely that there is a Fandral who would love to RP with you who is far more active than I’ve been.
